UCSB Chapters of Engineering Professional Societies
This quarter, you will be required to join an engineering professional society of your choosing. See the link below for a listing of professional societies with UCSB chapters; contacts for engineering societies will be distributed via hardcopy after the COE releases them. The society you join does NOT need to be related to your major, although that would be useful. Examples of professional societies relevant to engineering with UCSB chapters include the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Engineers Without Borders, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Photonics Society, Los Ingenieros, Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Women in Science Society (WSS), and Women in Software and Hardware (WiSH).
