According to at least one study, most people fear public speaking more than death and blindness. Because speaking is a crucial part of communicating ideas to others, we will look this week at public speaking and preparing for your Writing 109ST presentation.
One of the best ways to improve your public speaking skills is to participate in the UCSB Gaucho Toastmasters. Part of the international organization of the same name, Toastmasters is dedicated to helping students and professionals become better public speakers. A large number of my current and former students have participated in Gaucho Toastmasters, all with resounding success.
